One advantage of porting your existing phone number to another carrier is that you get to use the same phone number even though you are subscribed to a new carrier.

Likewise, when you port Fido phone numbers to KrispCall, you get better call management features and more control over your calls. The best part is that the porting process is super easy and smooth.

In this guide, we will explain the steps that you must follow to port out your Fido phone numbers to KrispCall. Plus, we will also highlight some requirements you should address before initiating the porting process.

Porting Requirements (To Be Considered Before Porting Out Your Fido Phone Number)

In order to avoid any issues during the porting process, you need to consider several factors before you begin. Below are a few important things to consider:

1. The Number Must Be Portable

First, make sure that the Fido Phone number you wish to port to KrispCall is eligible for porting. KrispCall generally supports all active Fido phone numbers. But, to be on the safe side, it’s always a good idea to check its probability.

You can use our Number Porting Eligibility Checker tool to determine whether your number is portable. Using this tool is easy. You just have to enter the phone number and select the number type.

2. The Number Must be Active

The Fido number must also remain active during the porting process. Hence, until the porting is complete, maintain your current Fido service to avoid service interruptions.

3. Clear Outstanding Payments

Ensure you do not have any outstanding bills with Fido related to call charges, phone bills, equipment fees, or any other bills. If these payments are not cleared, the porting process will be delayed or canceled.

4. Submission of Necessary Documents & Information

You will also need to submit some necessary documents and information during the porting process. Prepare documents such as a Letter of Authorization (LOA), Customer Service Record (CSR), recent phone bill, account number, and PIN before initiating the porting process. Also, make sure these documents are accurate and up-to-date.

Information and Document Requirements (To be submitted to KrispCall)

These are some essential information and documents that you must submit to KrispCall:

1. Phone Numbers

You must provide a list of the Fido phone number(s) you want to port, either pasted into the body of the email or attached to a spreadsheet. The phone number must be in proper format. Numbers in Canada have 11 digits. The country code +1 is written first, followed by a 3-digit area code and the rest of the number.

The format for a complete phone number in Canada is +1-XXX-XXX-XXXX.

2. Letter of Authorization (LOA)

Another document you need to provide to KrispCall is LOA. The LOA verifies that you are the authorized user of the number. It contains information about the porting number and the owner’s information. LOA also allows KrispCall to make a porting request to Fido on your behalf. It is a mandatory document, and without it, we cannot process a port request.

While issuing an LOA, there are two important things to keep in mind. The first is to make sure it has your signature. Second, ensure the information on the LOA matches the authorized user name and service address provided by your current carrier. Additionally, you must submit an LOA that is dated within the last 30 days to KrispCall.

Kindly follow these instructions to fill out the information on the LOA form:

A CSR contains all the information your existing carrier has about you. You can find information like your address, account type, phone number, and billing address on this document.

4. Most Recent Phone Bill

Please don’t hesitate to contact our support team via live chat, text message, phone call, or email if you are unsure what information to include in your phone bills.
